Edmonton used to be afraid of its cold, dark winters, but within the last 10 years, the level of optimism within the city has changed. Previously, a list like this would have been filled, from 1 to 5, with a variety of different ways to say "hide until the sun comes back."  Now we fully embrace the snow and the cold, thanks in part to the many winter activities available to Edmontonians. 

As Explore Edmonton's winter mantra goes, "Cold? Yes. Dark? Yes. Boring? Never."

So, with a little less than 2 months left, what are the 5 things you have to do before winter ends? 

1) Ice On Whyte

If you have plans to buy a home this year, I've got good news for you.

Whether you're a first time buyer or you're looking to upgrade into a larger home, the latest report from the Realtors Association of Edmonton has said that we are in a buyer's market. Overall sales have decreased by 9% when compared to 2014, but that has not affected the pricing of homes in the area. Contrary to what is to be expected, homes prices have actually increased year over year to about 1.9% overall from 2014. The economic decline has impacted the market, but it seems like Edmonton hasn't been hurt by these changes.

We moved to Edmonton in 2016 and Chris from the Proctor Team helped us to find the home we were looking for.
