There's also a range of great condos, row houses and the typical high-altitude fare that one might assume would exist in such a thriving city. In short, people fall in love with Edmonton for many valid reasons, but the chance to pick and choose one's lifestyle is a reliable constant.

Life-changing Amenities

As green cities go, this is a definitive world leader. Unlike some of its counterparts, however, the verdant vibrancy isn't limited to a few local parks or patches of grass.

In addition to the mature trees that surround most of the homes and complement many of the apartment blocks and offices, there are vast green spaces that make it simple to enjoy a virtual escape from the city without actually trekking into the wilds of Alberta. With the North Saskatchewan River winding its way around neighbourhoods like Rossdale and Riverdale, it's possible to find plenty of real estate that affords its owners waterfront access via the well-maintained parks and natural spaces that line the banks. Ambling footpaths and access alleys offer measured separation and make it easy to enjoy life as it comes.

Popular Neighbourhoods in Central Edmonton

Some of the most popular areas in Central Edmonton include:

Downtown Edmonton: The Downtown neighbourhood is really a collection of districts and sub-areas in Edmonton that include a wide array of amenities and features for home buyers. The downtown area contains a variety of low and high-rise condos and lofts. Home prices in downtown Edmonton range from around $100,000 for a modest condo to around $1 million for a larger luxury condo home.

Oliver: The Oliver neighbourhood of Edmonton is one of the oldest and densest in the city. Oliver homes are predominantly condos and apartments with a small number of townhomes, duplexes and single family dwellings as well. Homes in Oliver range from around $100,000 for a small, modest condo to over $1 million for a larger luxury condo. Two-thirds of the homes in Oliver were built pre-1980.

Bonnie Doon: Located just south of downtown, this is a mature neighbourhood annexed by Edmonton in the early 1900s. With mature properties & neighbourhoods (some dating back to 1940) and excellent access to transit and nearby Mill Creek Ravine & Bonnie Doon Shopping Centre, this is an excellent area to investigate.

Riverdale: This unique community is located right next to the North Saskatchewan river at the base of Downtown edmonton. Secluded by the rising elevation of Edmonton's downtown core, the lot value in Riverdale is at a premium due to it's rare location, maturity, and proximity to amenities like the Muttart Conservatory and River Valley.
